This view of the North Umpqua is just East of a small rodeside park called Swiftwater.
It is one of my favorite places to paint as from there I can walk to many wonderful views of the river and surrounding area. In this painting I am looking up river toward the East,
the shoreline is rocky and the rapids caused by the rocks in the water catch the autumn light beautifully. Trees on the right bank lean over the water to get more light. The little
building on the left was a chance to add a dash of bright red.
