On an early morning walk on a cold winter day I came upon this gate left open, or
perhaps forced open, by the black berry bushes surrounding it. The scene leaves one
feeling that there is a story here if only we could know it. No one came to explain to me the why of it all the time I was there. The gate is like an invitation to enter and yet
one is left to wonder about the owner and the why of the gate being left open. The sunrise
behind the trees beckoned temptingly.
