A small study of the bank of the South Umpqua river from River Forks Park in Roseburg,
Oregon. A colored pencil piece such as this is called a 'painting' although I usually
refer to them as drawings. They are extremely time consuming but have the advantage
of much less to carry to the site. After beginning on site and getting the composition, colors, and values worked out the piece can be finished in the studio. To complete it
on site would be impossible- night would fall first.
